NZOHS Compliance

Design Compliance

There are a number of legal requirements surrounding the provision of plant in an employment setting which are often not adequately observed by designers, manufacturers, suppliers and purchasing officers.

The result is an item of plant which fails to comply with NZOHS requirements and poses as a potential hazard for the end user. Once the budgets are spent and installation is over, accountability, expensive modifications and work place disruptions are difficult to negotiate.

The objective is to provide insulation from potential harm both from the employees point of view and that of the employer who could face legal action should ‘serious harm’ occur. Designers, manufacturers, suppliers and purchasers are also not immune to culpability.
